Georgia among National Geographic Traveler's 2017 "Best of the World" destinations

Georgia is one of the National Geographic Traveler magazine’s “Best of the World” destinations for 2017.

The state’s live music and rich music heritage landed it among the publication’s top 21 best places to travel in the world. The feature will be included in the magazine’s December 2016/January 2017 issue, which will be available for purchase starting November 29.

“It is an honor that National Geographic Traveler has selected Georgia as one of 21 of the world’s best destinations,” said Gov. Nathan Deal in a press release. “From our mountains to our coasts, Georgia is home to talented musicians, world-class artists and others who help make our state a top tourist destination and a wonderful place to call home. We are proud that Georgia is on the mind of so many, both here and around the world.”

Georgia is featured in the culture section of the magazine, featuring many of the state’s iconic music destinations including Macon, Dahlonega, Athens and Atlanta.
