The GBI said Moore "indicated he had a gun." The officer shot Moore while they tried to arrest him.
Moore remains in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.
According to his arrest warrant, Rodney had suddenly stopped in the middle of the road with a passenger in his car. Police say he was driving with a suspended license. The warrant states the officer thought he saw a gun, which Rodney confirmed. The officer then instructed Rodney to put his hands on the steering wheel, but investigators say he kept reaching down—prompting the officer to open fire.

What they're saying:
His wife, Danielle Moore, says she is desperate for answers after she says he was shot six times by a DeKalb officer.
"He was very frail," she said. "You shot him in the chest, you shot him in the carotid, they removed the spleen. That's a lot of things going on."
Danielle, however, says her husband was not aggressive, didn’t have a gun, and suffers from physical disabilities that limit his movement.
"He has very little function in that leg and also like I said, this arm goes only right here, you know, he can only lift it to here," she said.

Wife outraged after husband shot by DeKalb officer
The wife of Rodney Moore, 64, is demanding answers after he was shot six times by a DeKalb County police officer during a traffic stop near Central Drive and Lancashire Circle. Moore remains in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital. His wife says he had no gun, suffers from severe physical disabilities, and was misunderstood during the stop. Investigators cite an arrest warrant and claims he reached down despite orders.
A witness who lives in the area told FOX 5 they heard multiple gunshots and described the scene as a "traffic stop gone wrong." The witness also reported hearing a woman yelling, "Why did you do this? We didn’t do anything wrong!"
Danielle believes his physical condition and the state of the vehicle—a late-model Lincoln sedan that wasn’t his—may have played a role in the confusion. She says the driver’s side door doesn’t open and that Rodney has to climb across to the passenger side to get in or out.
"If he was trying to get out on the other side of the car, he literally would have to bend over, move his leg to get it in position so he could get in and out of the car," she explained.
Danielle said she doesn’t understand why her husband was seen as a threat.
"If you talk to anybody that he knows, Rodney is always smiling. He's always pretty upbeat," she said.
