Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting earlier Thursday at Beaver Creek Trailer Park in Lavonia after a day-long search by local authorities.

What we know:

The Lavonia Police Department issued arrest warrants for Justice Spencer, 26, and Koran Norman, 28, on charges of aggravated assault.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, one of the two suspects pointed a gun at officers, firing and striking the individual at least once.

Authorities say this is a separate victim from the first shooting.

Both suspects were located inside a trailer in the 100 block of Midway Avenue just after 9 p.m. Thursday.

Officers pursued the suspects on foot and took them into custody without further incident.

What we don't know:

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

The backstory:

Earlier in the day, law enforcement responded to reports of gunfire at Beaver Creek Trailer Park located along Beaver Dam Circle in Lavonia around 12:30 p.m.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, a man was shot by two people and was rushed to an area hospital.

The suspect ran from the scene.

Residents in the area were urged to remain indoors, lock their doors, and check security footage for any suspicious activity.

Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Georgia State Patrol, and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, assisted in the search for the suspects.

The entrance to Beaver Creek Trailer Park was temporarily closed, and drivers were advised to use alternate routes.

Investigators are calling this an "officer-involved shooting," which is a generic term used whenever a police officer is involved in an incident involving gunfire.
