Forsyth County Sheriff's Office: 3 drug overdoses in 15 hours

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said one person has died and two others are in the hospital after three drug overdoses in 15 hours.

Investigators said at the scene of the fatal drug overdose, deputies found significant drug trafficking taking place, which included large amounts of suspected heroin, marijuana, prescription narcotics, large sums of money and unknown white powders.

"Our deputies are working nonstop to locate and apprehend the dealers of this poison in our community," the sheriff's office said on Facebook Sunday.

The two people taken to the hospital are in serious condition. Deputies said the three incidents may be a result of a bad batch of deadly drugs, such as heroin or fentanyl.

"Anyone contemplating using or knowing persons addicted to such drugs should heed this warning 'your life may be at stake,'" the FCSO said. "Every day our deputies work hard to save lives, we are committed to going after anyone dealing drugs in this community and keeping Forsyth safe."
