Former non-profit treasurer sentenced for stealing thousands

COLUMBUS, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - The treasurer of a Georgia non-profit group stole thousands of dollars donated to families of fallen soldiers.

Dustin Campbell was sentenced Wednesday to 15 years in prison.

He served as an unpaid volunteer for the Army Sniper Association based in Columbus near Fort Benning.

Between April 2015 and October 2016, Campbell stole nearly $40,000 worth of donations from the charity.

In addition to prison time, he'll have to pay that money back.
