Forest Park Police seek men seen in club surveillance

A mother is pleading for the men seen in surveillance video 15 minutes before her son died to come forward to talk to police. Forest Park Police said Fernando Worthy, 25, was last seen leaving Rumors Adult Entertainment Club on Jonesboro Road on May 12. Video from the club was released Tuesday.

“I won't have peace until they are caught. He's leaving behind three siblings that looked up to him and needed him as a big brother. He is leaving behind children, small children,” Melvena Reid said.

Worthy's mother said his children were his world. He was the father of three, including 4-year-old Zowie Worthy, and two sons. One is 6 years old; the other is one.

Detectives released surveillance video from the club that shows Worthy and his unidentified friend talking to four men before they went to the parking lot. Police said that is when at least 40 shots were fired.

Worthy and his friend jumped in a black SUV and fled the scene, but didn't get far. DeKalb County Police said the SUV crashed on the ramp from Interstate 285 to Interstate 20.

Police said they need the public's help identifying the four men, who they call “persons of interest” so they can speak with them.
