Firefighters: Lightning sparked Cherokee County house fire

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Authorities blame lightning for a fire that destroyed a home in Cherokee County early Thursday morning.

The 911 call came in at around 5 a.m.

The home on Spruce Manor Court in the Bridge Mill community has significant damage.

According to firefighters, it is a total loss.

The chief said the family of five was on vacation so no one was injured.
