Firefighters battle Villa Rica brush fire

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. - Firefighters battled a brush fire in Villa Rica early Monday morning. 

Douglas County firefighters were called out to a wooded area off Conners Road around 3 a.m. Ten firefighters were on the scene working to contain the fire.

Officials told FOX 5 about 1.7 acres of land burned, but the fire has since been contained.

Georgia Forestry helped in the efforts by providing heavy equipment to stop the fire.
