Fire tears through Clayton County apartments

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - A fire destroyed a portion of an apartment complex in Clayton County on Friday afternoon.

It happened at the Highland Woods Apartments located at 5751 Riverdale Riverdale.

SKYFOX 5 flew over the apartment complex around 5:30 p.m. and found a two-story apartment building with the roof burned through and collapsed over at least six units. It appears sixteen units may have been involved.

Fire investigators were seen digging through the shelled out remains of some of the units.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

There were no reports of injuries.
