Investigators have released new details after a female body was found in Lake Lanier last weekend.

The victim has been identified as Estelle Kouassi, 18, of Winder.

Kouassi's body was recovered from the lake on Sunday after being spotted by fishermen.

Investigators said they were able to positively identify Kouassi from a missing persons report that was filed exactly one month before her body was found.

Investigators still don't know how she died, but they don't suspect foul play. A medical examiner said there were no signs of trauma.

The investigation is ongoing.

Kouassi's sister has set up a GoFundMe account to help cover funeral costs.
