A family is desperate for answers one year after a 30-year-old father of three was shot and killed in front of a Downtown Atlanta motel.

On Tuesday night, they lit candles and released balloons in Willie Wilson III's honor on Pine Street. That's where police said a driver in a red Mercedes SUV pulled up to Wilson, who was riding a Bird scooter, and fired a single shot.

But Tuesday's gathering was more than a commemorative gesture. The group gathered, seeking justice.

"I can't even rest," said widow Shanika McCoy. "I [am] paranoid in my own house, I can't even rest until we just know, until we all know."

Investigators are still working to identify and track down the person responsible for Wilson's death.

His father is convinced someone knows something that could lead to an arrest.

"If you know something, please tell it," Willie Wilson Jr. begged. "If you [saw] something, say something, and everything will be alright."

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS, who is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
