Family of Atlanta woman killed in hit and run seek answers
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - he family of an Atlanta woman killed in a hit and run over the weekend want answers.
Marcella Bellany, 70, was hit not once, but twice 10 p.m. Friday night on James Jackson Parkway near Proctor Road, according to Atlanta Police. The driver responsible for her death kept going, investigators said.
A short while later, the woman was hit by a second car, but this time the driver stayed and contacted police.
Family members spoke to FOX 5 News and said they want closure.
Authorities said the death investigation remains “active and ongoing.”
Investigators described the first driver as a woman in a blue uniform driving a dark-colored SUV.
Anyone with information on the driver is asked to call the Atlanta Police Department.
