Driver killed in fiery I-20 crash after possible tire blowout, police say

ATLANTA - A 54-year-old man died following a single-car crash and fire early Saturday morning along I-20 in Atlanta, according to police.
What we know:
The deadly crash happened around 2:35 a.m. on Saturday on I-20 East near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive NW.
Atlanta police said a Toyota RAV4 was traveling eastbound when the driver lost control after a possible tire blowout.
Authorities added that the SUV then hit the highway's center wall before veering off the roadway, hitting a tree and catching fire.
The driver, a 54-year-old man, who was the only one in the car died at the scene.
Investigators with the Atlanta Police Department's Accident Investigations Unit responded to the scene to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
What we don't know:
Police have not yet publicly released the identity of the 54-year-old victim.
Authorities have not confirmed whether any additional mechanical or environmental factors contributed to the crash beyond the possible tire blowout.
