Driver accused of firing shots at Cherokee County deputies
CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. - The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office arrests a man who they said fired 10 to 12 shots at officers.
A deputy tried to stop Joey Donaldson on a road in northern Cherokee County.
But the deputy said he refused to stop and fired shots out of the window.
A few hours later, investigators tried to pull Donaldson over again.
Deputies said he sped away and threw a locked box out of the window.
A short time later, the driver lost control and crashed.
Officers arrested Donaldson.
They also found the box which they said contained marijuana and meth.
