GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - DNA testing has confirmed remains found in a wooded area near Clayton County are those of a Norcross mother reported missing in March 2017.
Beatriz Noemi Espinoza-Fuentes, 25, was reported missing on March 25, 2017. She was last seen at her Hickory Grove Apartments and told family members she was leaving with her 3-year-old child.
That same day, her child was found wandering on South Norcross Tucker Road near her apartment.
"The bodies were found together shortly after the original missing person case was reported. Now that her body has been discovered with another homicide victim, we consider that Clayton County's homicide investigation, but we are working with investigators to develop some leads about our kidnapping case," said Gwinnett Police Cpl. Michele Pihera.
Clayton County Police confirm the bodies of two homicide victims--a man and a woman-- in along Webb Road near Riverdale on April 28, 2017. But a police spokesman would not specify how the victims died.
Authorities said Friday that one of those victims is Espinoza-Fuentes and police are investigating the case as a possible kidnapping in Gwinnett.
"We just need people to come forward with the truth, not just theories that are on social media," said Cpl. Pihera.
