Deputies arrest man they say is member of ‘Gangster Disciple' gang
CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Deputies in Cherokee County said they arrested a member of the “Gangster Disciples” street gang this week.
Hayden Conley Shaw, 24, of Woodstock, was charged with four counts of aggravated assault, obstruction of an officer, and Street Gang Terrorism Act.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said the charges stem from a report of shots being fired Tuesday morning at a gas station on Georgia Highway 92 at Wade Green Road near Acworth. Witnesses told deputies a man threatened customers and followed them outside before pulling out a gun and firing it.
The man, later determined by deputies to be Shaw, got into a vehicle and was spotted by deputies at a nearby McDonald’s about 15 minutes later. When deputies approached, Shaw ran, investigators said. He was arrested a few minutes later hiding outside of a home along Don John Trail.
Two other people were taken into custody but were not charged.
Shaw was booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center without bond.
