DeKalb County Police Investigate Woman's Shooting Death

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Police are trying to find the killer of a 17-year-old woman who was shot to death Monday night in DeKalb County.

A witness called 911 around 8:30 p.m. Monday, reporting that a woman's body was lying on the sidewalk along the 2100 block of Flat Shoals Road. When officers arrived, they found Sariah Wilcoxon lying in grass next to the sidewalk near a MARTA bus stop.

A half hour earlier, one neighbor said she talked to the Wilcoxon and everything seemed fine.

Wilcoxon attended McNair High School. County officials released no information about her background other than she failed to show for the new academic year last August.

Detectives are still trying to determine any suspects and a motive.
