DeKalb County police investigate attempted kidnapping report

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A DeKalb County mother is worried after she says a woman tried to take her one-year-old son from a shopping cart Monday.

Nilah George told FOX 5 News the incident happened at the Michael's store on Lavista Road in Tucker.

She said she had her one-year-old identical twin sons and daughter, 3, with her at the time.

And once she got close to the checkout counter, George said a woman tried to pull one of her sons from the cart. But he was strapped inside.

"She never looked at me. She never interacted me. She put my son down then tried to unbuckle the buckle and lift him up again. I reached out and said, 'Stop,'"George recalled.

DeKalb County Police confirmed to FOX 5 that George filed a police report. They said officers have identified the woman in question as well as the man who was with her at the time.
