Couple charged in death of 2-year-old daughter

COWETA COUNTY, Ga. - A Coweta County couple was charged in the death of their two-year-old daughter.

Deputies say Elizabeth and Daniel Lee called 911 Sunday saying they found their daughter "Aleigha" unresponsive.

Medics rushed the child to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators have ruled her death a homicide though an official cause of death is pending the medical examiner's investigation.

Investigators have charged Elizabeth with felony murder and aggravated battery while deputies charged Daniel Lee with child cruelty.

The couple's five other children were placed in state custody.
