Atlanta residents have a final opportunity to shape the future of Piedmont Park as the first master plan in 25 years nears its official unveiling.

What we know:

Piedmont Park visitors are running out of opportunities to share their thoughts on the first master plan for the park in 25 years. The updated plan for the popular Midtown Atlanta attraction will be officially unveiled in April, but the Piedmont Park Conservancy is offering two more chances for in-person community feedback before then.

Timeline:

The final in-person community meetings are scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 16, starting at 9 a.m. Both meetings will be held at Dockside, located between Lake Clara Meer and the 12th Street Gate.

In addition to the in-person events, there will be two virtual input sessions on Feb. 22 and Feb. 26. These sessions are designed to help designers refine the vision for the future of Piedmont Park based on community feedback.

Why you should care:

This is a rare chance for residents and park-goers to have a direct influence on the future of one of Atlanta’s most cherished green spaces. The input gathered will play a crucial role in shaping the park's development and ensuring it meets the community’s needs and expectations.

What's next:

After these final input sessions, designers will integrate the feedback into the master plan, which will be revealed in April. Community members interested in the park's future are encouraged to participate in either the in-person or virtual sessions to make their voices heard.
