College student murdered in South Fulton ambush, victim's mother speaks out

Police are investigating the murder of a college student who was found dead after being shot in a car on Buckhurst Drive in South Fulton Sunday morning.

The body has been identified as Sar'Dajhii May, 22.

Police said the body was found around 1:20 a.m. on June 17 and was in the 1000 block of Buckhurst Drive in the Pointer Ridge subdivision.

May's mother says she was close to earning her Bachelor's degree before she was killed, "This is a devastating lost for our entire family."  The victim's family said they will not have peace until the killer is caught.

The Pointer Ridge subdivision has been a hot bed for gun violence in the past, including a string of three shootings in three days in November of 2017.

Pointer Ridge Resident James Huling told FOX 5's Aungelique Proctor, "There is a huge gang issue here."

May leaves behind her parents, three sisters including a 2-month old.

Police still do not have any leads.
