Cobb County police welcome new peer support K-9 officer
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Cobb County police have a new addition to the team, and he's very furry.
K-9 Bentley is the department's new Peer Support K-9.
He'll assist first responders in times of need after stressful or traumatic incidents, officials said.
The 2-year-old pup is a Bernese mountain dog and poodle mix.
He was trained through Tails of Hope, a Georgia nonprofit that turns stray and turned-in dogs into service animals.
"With over 300 hours of training and multiple American Kennel Club certifications, Bentley is ready to serve," the department wrote on Facebook.
