10 children rescued from Nebraska human trafficking ring, ICE says

ICE agents rescued 27 people, including 10 children, from motel rooms used for human trafficking in the Nebraska area. (Department of Homeland Security) 

ICE officers rescued 27 people, including 10 children, during a human trafficking ring bust in Nebraska. 

The children were under the age of 12 and were found crammed in dirty motel rooms infected with cockroaches with inadequate sanitation. 

According to ICE, the children and adults were being sex trafficked, and the motel was also being used for drug trafficking. The operation was being run out of motels and eyebrow salons in the Omaha, Nebraska area. Authorities also confiscated more than $565,000 in cash and drugs during their operation.

 ICE announced that five people were arrested by officers during their operation:

  • Kentakumar Chaudhari, a/k/a Ken Chaudhari
  • Rashmi Ajit Samani, a/k/a Falguni Samani
  • Amit Prahladbhai Chaudhari, a/k/a Amit
  • Amit Babubhai Chaudhari, a/k/a Matt
  • Maheshkumar Chaudhari, a/k/a Mahesh

Cash and drugs were recovered during a human trafficking operation in the Nebraska area. (Department of Homeland Security) 

ICE officers also took 14 other people into custody who were living with the human trafficking victims. Some of the people detained that were identified by ICE are Guillermo Infante Arevalo, Eudis Enrique Cuellar-Martinez, and Pablo Martinez Canas.
