Hundreds of children (and their parents) got a jump start on the New Year by celebrating at LEGOLAND Atlanta.

The Phipps Plaza attraction hosted its annual "Noon Year's Eve" celebration Thursday.

"We want her to understand what New Year's Eve is about and how exciting it is and let her be a part of some celebration," said Jennifer Estaris Wiebe, who brought her daughter Maiella, 2.

People put on their party hats to count down the seconds until the clock struck noon and balloons fell from the ceiling.

"That way they get to experience kind of the New Year's celebration without having to stay up past their bedtime," explained LEGOLAND Master Builder Aries Viera.

Wiebe said she plans to have her daughter in bed long before midnight.

"I don't think she's ever stayed up past 10pm, which is good," she added.  "So, one day--one day she'll experience it, but maybe when she's like 20 or 30--when she's old."
