Buford woman turns 101 on Wednesday
BUFORD, Ga. - A metro Atlanta woman is celebrating a special milestone on Wednesday.
Annie Laura Maddox was born on August 1, 1917, in Buford Georgia, where she's lived her entire life. Wednesday marks her 101st birthday.
Mrs. Maddox was married for over 60 years to her late husband, Vernan Maddox Sr. Together, they had four sons and one daughter, who are all still living.
Loved ones describe her as a hardworking woman, saying she never missed a day of work in the 30 years she worked in Flowery Branch.
"The only time she didn't go in was when the plant closed for the holidays," said daughter Celethea Morrow.
Mrs. Maddox loves to croquet, sing, and watch movies. She also loves her 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren.
