All clear given after bomb threat at Georgia Power Plant Yates

COWETA COUNTY, Ga. - Public safety officials cleared a potential bomb threat Monday at Plant Yates in Coweta County after an emergency response and facility evacuation, according to local authorities.
What we know:
Emergency crews rushed to the Georgia Power facility at 708 Dyer Road after 911 dispatchers received a call from site security at 1:41 p.m. Monday.
Security personnel discovered a bomb threat note written on the wall of a portable toilet on the property.
Officials immediately evacuated approximately 800 staff members and workers from the building as public safety agencies moved in to secure the area.
The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office deployed K9 units alongside Coweta County Fire Rescue and the Coweta County 911/Emergency Management Agency.
State and federal law enforcement partners assisted with a thorough inspection of the grounds.
No explosive devices were found, and officials reopened Dyer Road to the public after clearing the area.

Georgia Power sent the following statement to FOX 5 Atlanta:
"We place the safety of our communities and the teams working to build, maintain or operate our facilities first every day. This afternoon, we received reports of threatening language alleging an explosive device onsite posted inside a portable toilet at the Plant Yates construction site. We took the threat seriously, immediately evacuated the site and worked with local authorities to sweep the property. We’re grateful for the quick response of local first responders and, as of late this afternoon, have received the "all clear" for work to resume at the site."
