Body found in Lake Lanier

HALL COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A death investigation is underway in Hall County after a fisherman discovered a woman's body in Lake Lanier.

Sheriff's deputies received the call around noon Friday.

The body was spotted near the shore near the entrance to Lake Lanier Islands in Hall County.

Officials have identified the victim as 30-year-old Atlanta resident Shannon Sancho.

The DeKalb County Medical Examiner plans to conduct an autopsy to determine how she died.
