Body found in burned Gwinnett County apartment
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Investigators are at the scene of a fire at a Gwinnett County apartment where a body was found. A witness saw smoke coming from one of the units at The Falls Apartments in Duluth and called 911.
The fire happened in the 1500 block of The Falls Parkway near Duluth just after 3 p.m. Tuesday. A Gwinnett Police officer was the first on the scene. He kicked the door in and discovered a man's body on the floor. At that moment firefighters pulled up and quickly put the fire out. With the fire extinguished the focus turned to the man found inside.

Gwinnett County Firefighter Captain Tommy Rutledge told FOX 5 News the body of a man in his 20's was found after firefighters entered the apartment.
Firefighters said the blaze was contained to one unit on the second floor in the complex.
A woman and child who also lived at the apartment were not at home at the time of the fire. The Red Cross is assisting them with housing and other immediate needs.
No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is also under investigation.
