CUMMING, Ga. (AP) — Officials say a body found in Lake Lanier is believed to be that of a missing Florida man who fell out of a boat earlier this month.

Multiple news outlets report authorities say the body was discovered Sunday near Three Sisters Island, which is where 23-year-old Kevin T. Husum of Panama City, Florida, fell from a pontoon boat on Aug. 6 and did not resurface.

The body will be sent to the GBI crime lab for positive identification.

Georgia Department of Natural Resources officials say they used sonar equipment to try and find Husum, and also performed surface and shore sweeps twice daily.

Authorities say the boat's operator, Kenneth Toller of Cumming, was arrested on charges of boating under the influence. It's unclear whether he has an attorney.
