Benefit held for DeKalb County officer with cancer

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - The DeKalb County Police Department is rallying around an officer battling cancer. And so is the community he is sworn to serve.

A Coffee for a Cop fundraiser was held on Friday for Officer Darrel Price. Doctors diagnosed Officer Price with Stage II Hodgkin lymphoma. The cancer has begun to spread to other lymph nodes in his stomach.

The Dunkin Donuts on Wesley Chapel Road donated some of its proceeds to Price and volunteers accepted cash contributions. Price was also on hand to say thank you in person.

Price, a married father of three, has completed his first round of radiation treatments. The 9-year veteran is on medical leave from the department.
