Atlanta's Salvation Army gives away fans

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - The Salvation Army is giving back in a big way.

Thursday, the organization gave away 1,400 fans to the elderly at the Kroc Center in Atlanta.

Organizers said it's a way to beat the heat.

An official with the Kroc Center said he knows how important it is to turn on a fan in the hot weather.

Organizers gave away fans on a first come, first serve basis.
