Atlanta police officer accidentally shoots himself

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Atlanta officers responded to a shooting call at one of their own police precincts Thursday.

The call went out around 2:20 p.m. from the Zone 3 Lakewood department.

It turns out an officer accidentally shot himself in the leg.

He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

Officials said he was transferring his gun from one holster to another when the weapon went off.
