Atlanta Police Department graduation

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - The Atlanta Police Department welcomed 34 new police officers to its ranks.

The department held a graduation ceremony Tuesday night at Morehouse College.

The ceremony capped off months of rigorous training at the police academy as well as 12 weeks of field training.

Chief Erika Shields said the addition of these officers is a welcome manpower boost.
