Atlanta park dedicated to 'Godmother of Voter Registration'
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Atlanta dedicates a new Atlanta Park to “The Godmother of Voter Registration” on Wednesday.
Ella Mae Wade Brayboy spent her entire life advocating for others. Brayboy worked as a congressional staffer for Congressman Andrew Young and served as the community outreach director for 15 years at the King Center.
Councilman Michael Julian Bond organized a commission to memorialize her contributions and it cumulated into the park dedication at Burbank and Lena Streets.
Brayboy is also the grandmother of FOX 5 Reporter Aungelique Proctor.
