Atlanta high school student stabbed, taken to the hospital

An altercation between two students at Frederick Douglass High School Friday morning ended with one student being stabbed with a knife, according to Atlanta Public School officials. 

An APS spokesperson tells FOX 5 that both of the students involved were females and the victim was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. She was described as alert and conscious while they were on the way to the hospital. 

The other female student was detained and will face charges. 

No other injuries to staff or any other students were reported.
