Atlanta Dept. of Corrections helps 100 families this Christmas

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - It's the season of giving and the city of Atlanta Department of Corrections is in the holiday spirit.

The DOC hosted its annual holiday food and toy drive this week.

They're helping more than 100 families and veterans.

Each family will receive a box packed with donated food including meat, fresh produce, canned goods, and non-perishable food.

Other items given out include toys, clothing, and coats.

The department works with Grady Health System Social Services and the area VA office, to identify those people in need.
