ATLANTA - The Atlanta City Council paid tribute to one of their own Monday. Councilman Ivory Young passes away last week. He was 56.
The council observed a moment of silence Monday afternoon in Young’s memory and draped a black cloth over the late councilman’s chair.
Organizers also placed Young’s signature boater hat in front of his former seat.
Young had served on the Atlanta City Council since 2002 and helped to shepherd re-development efforts on the Westside and the construction of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
