Arrest made in deadly shooting at Clayton County motel

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - Police arrested a man for a deadly shooting in Clayton County Friday night.

It happened at the Woods Motel located in the 7800 block of Main Street around 8 p.m. Clayton County Police said found a man dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.

Investigators believe the shooting escalated from a fight between two men. Police reviewed surveillance video which led them to the suspect, who still at the scene.

While police were investigating, a family member of the victim trying to get to the scene crashed into a pole. She was not injured.

The names of those involved have not yet been released.
