Arrest in killing of teenage girl

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Atlanta Police arrested a 19-year-old for shooting and killing a 17-year-old girl.

Jamal Thomas is being held without bond on involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct charges.

Police say Thomas was handling a gun in what they call a "negligent manner" at a home on Springside Drive.

The gun went off shooting a teenage girl in the head.

She later died.
