American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk

ATLANTA - October is breast cancer awareness month and Saturday thousands of breast cancer survivors, caregivers, and supporters gathered to show their support in ending the disease.

It was a sea of pink at the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at SunTrust Park.

The event was held to both raises awareness and funds to end breast cancer.

Last year, more than 20,000 participants raised close to $1.3 million in metro Atlanta for the American Cancer Society to put towards breast cancer research.

About 268,670 women in the United States are diagnosed with breast cancer, another 41,400 will die from the disease.
