Acworth Chick-fil-A stabbing: Daughter allegedly stabbed mother 10 times

ACWORTH, Ga. - A 21-year-old Wisconsin woman has been charged after investigators say she stabbed her mother at least 10 times during a violent confrontation at a Chick-fil-A in Cherokee County.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office identified the woman as Shyanniah Ma’Ree Johnson of Milwaukee. She is charged with aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act.
Argument escalates during trip to Wisconsin
What we know:
Investigators say Johnson and her 39-year-old mother, also from Milwaukee, were traveling north toward Wisconsin when they began arguing inside their vehicle.
They exited Interstate 75 and pulled into the Chick-fil-A parking lot on Highway 92 near th interstate, where the confrontation escalated while they were still inside the vehicle.
According to investigators, Johnson assaulted her mother, who suffered at least 10 stab wounds. Johnson also suffered an injury to her leg during the confrontation.
The mother made it inside the restaurant, where off-duty Acworth police officers helped her until paramedics arrived. She was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and has since been released.
License plate reader data helps locate Johnson
How they caught her:
After the altercation, Johnson left the area and traveled north on I-75 with two children in the vehicle.
Authorities used automated license plate reader data to locate her in Whitfield County. Deputies, Georgia State Patrol troopers and Dalton police conducted a felony traffic stop about an hour and 15 minutes after the stabbing.
Johnson was transported to Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton for treatment of the leg injury she suffered during the altercation. She remained hospitalized as of the latest update.
Children placed in DFCS custody
The two children who were traveling in the vehicle were not injured. They are now in the custody of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services in Whitfield County.
What's next:
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office says the investigation remains active and additional charges are possible.
What we don't know:
At this time, it is not known when the suspect will appear in front of a judge. When FOX 5 Atlanta requested a mug shot, we were told that the suspect is still receiving medical treatment.
