60th Anniversary of Montgomery Bus Boycott

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The nation is marking 60 years since the start of the Montgomery bus boycott.

On December 1, 1955, after a long day at work, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white passenger. Her simple act set off a huge change in the Civil Rights Movement. 

A marker will be unveiled on Tuesday at the site of Parks' arrest in downtown Montgomery, Alabama. Democratic presidential candidate Hilary Clinton is in Montgomery on Tuesday to mark the anniversary.
