The verdicts were read in court on Wednesday in a deadly 2014 home invasion in Duluth.

Devon Jenkins was convicted of the murder in the death of 37-year-old Adam Schrier after he was shot inside his Duluth home on August 6, 2014. Pierre Scott and James Stokes were acquitted on that charge, but joined Jenkins in being convicted of aggravated assault, burglary, home invasion, armed robbery, false imprisonment and cruelty to children.

Brian Brewner, who investigators said was the ringleader of the robbing crew, had been previously convicted and sentenced to life without parole plus 55 years for his role.

Prosecutors said all four men entered the home on Summercrest Drive in an attempt to recover 11 pounds of methamphetamine that Schrier had taken from a drug trafficker. During the incident, investigators said Jenkins shot Schrier in the chest, ultimately killing him. Police said Jenkins also shot Schrier’s girlfriend, Jami Smith, and her 9-year-old daughter before tying them up and fleeing the home. A 5-year-old girl also at home at the time of the home invasion was not injured. Smith eventually was able to free themselves and call police.

James Stokes was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Pierre Scott received life in prison plus a consecutive 5 years to serve. Devon Jenkins will be sentenced at a later date.
