Splashing into summer at Six Flags White Water

Spring Break has come and gone … and summer vacation will be here before we know it.  So the timing couldn’t be better for the team at Six Flags White Water to open the gates and flood the slides for another soaker of a season!

Marietta’s Six Flags White Water opens for the season this weekend, operating on Saturdays and Sundays until Memorial Day weekend, at which point the water park will be open seven days a week.

2019 marks 35 years since the water park first opened in Metro Atlanta, and 20 years since it was taken over by the Six Flags corporation — and longtime fans know there are plenty of ways to keep cool there, especially during the heat of Atlanta’s sweltering summers.

Popular attractions include Dive Bomber, which opened in 2015 as the park’s tallest water slide and drops the floor beneath thrill-seekers for a scary and soaking 10-story plunge, and Typhoon Twister, which opened in 2013 and sends four-person tubes plunging into a 67-foot-wide bowl.

Of course, those looking for a more relaxing way to beat the heat have plenty of options, too, including spending time in the park’s Activity Pool — featuring a play zone for kids — and the Atlanta Ocean Wave Pool.

So … ready to splash into summer?  Six Flags White Water opens Saturday, May 11th, at 10:30 a.m.  The park will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. the next two weekends, then extends to 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. for Memorial Day weekend and beyond.  The park is located at 250 Cobb Parkway North, #100, in Marietta.

The Good Day feature team has spent plenty of memorable mornings at Six Flags White Water, and never misses a chance to ditch their work clothes for swim suits and do some slipping and sliding on live TV!  So we spent the morning at the park, getting a first look at the upcoming season!
