Rare GM Futurliner Headlines Atlanta Auto Show

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - You already know that the Atlanta International Auto Show brings together the latest-model cars, trucks, and SUVs, filling up the Georgia World Congress Center floor with shiny chrome and sparkling finishes.  But this year, a vehicle created decades ago will steal away plenty of attention from the new vehicles on the block.

One of a dozen General Motors Futurliners featured in the GM-sponsored "Parade of Progress Tour" will be on display at the 37th Annual Atlanta International Auto Show, which returns Wednesday, March 20th through Sunday, March 24th at the Georgia World Congress Center Building C.  The Futurliners are large, front-wheeled display vehicles which traveled across North America through the early 1950s; Futurliner #10 was originally built in 1939 and eventually donated to the National Automotive and Truck Museum, which will bring the vehicle to Atlanta for this rare appearance.  The Futurliner is just one of several special attractions at the year’s Auto Show, which include appearances by Marvel superhero Black Panther and the FOX 5 Atlanta news team (and, yes, the FOX 5 Stormchaser will be there again, too!).                                                                                                                           

Hours for this year’s Auto Show are Noon to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Noon to 10 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $12 for adults and $6 for children ages six to 12.
