Outdoor recreation is a 'blast' at annual weekend show

If there’s one thing people should know about Georgians, it’s that we love the outdoors.  And a big event this weekend will celebrate outdoor recreation with planned activities for everyone from seasoned hunters to the youngest bucks.

The Georgia Outdoor News Outdoor Blast is taking over the Infinite Energy Center from Friday, July 27 through Sunday, July 29, bringing together hundreds of vendors from around the Southeast specializing in everything outdoor recreation.  Special events this year include a Chevy Ride & Drive, during which guests will be able to test-drive 2019 models on Saturday and Sunday, and an appearance by Steve Scruggs – a.k.a. the Snake Master – who will be showing off reptiles and teaching attendees how to identify venomous and non-venomous snakes.

Hunters will have a chance to browse the Truck-Buck Wall of Fame, showcasing Georgia’s biggest bucks of last year, and GON will be scoring deer to qualify for the All-Time County-By-County Records.

Show times are 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.  Admission is $10, and kids ages 12 and under are free.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken may not be much of an outdoorsman, but he’s always willing to learn some new skills!  So he spent the morning at the Infinite Energy Center getting a preview of this year’s big event.
