Good Day Atlanta viewer information story July 28, 2017

Burgers With Buck:  When you name your restaurant, Biscuits and More, the possibilities are limitless.  To the uninformed it may sound like a breakfast joint, and it is, but it’s also so much more.

A quick look at the menu reveals many of your breakfast favorites, including their, well known and very popular cheese grits.  A closer look reveals many sandwich and salad options as well as hot dogs and chicken tenders.  All of these options could represent the ‘more’ in their name, but for #BurgersWithBuck, there’s something (ahem)… ‘more’.

When a Good Day Atlanta viewer reached out and recommended Biscuits and More in Marietta as a potential stop on our #BWB World Tour, the staff was understandably a little skeptical.  After all, we have a long list of potential #BWB destinations.

However, after a little bit of research, it became pretty obvious that Biscuits and More has a loyal and passionate customer base and we owed it to ourselves, and to burger lovers like you, to head to East Cobb.

Boy oh boy, are we glad we did.

First though, much like Burgers With Buck has a shortened version for hashtag purposes, #BWB…Biscuits and More has #BAM.  More on that later.

Owner Chuck Morris grew up on the south side of Atlanta and remembers a simpler time.  His burgers are reminiscent of backyard cookouts with the family in a pre-McDonald’s world.  According to Morris, his motto is, “Nothing fancy whatsoever, just good”.

The sampled version of the Double Cheeseburger included pimento cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and pickles, all served on a sesame seed bun.  Not only is it delicious, but it is also one of the most inexpensive burgers we’ve ever featured.  The Double Cheeseburger on the menu goes for a mere $5.39.

OK…so with all of the fuss about the cheese grits, we felt it was out journalistic duty to sample them as well…and by sample I mean every bite of a large bowl of the golden goodness.  I mean let’s face it, where else can you order a double cheeseburger with a side of chees grits?

It’s enough to make you put your right thumb in the air and shout “BAM!  And back to the name, Biscuits and More…’more’ is what you will likely be saying after eating there.  The atmosphere is relaxed and fun, and it feels familiar the first time you walk through the door.  When you check it out for yourself, make sure you tell them that Burgers With Buck sent you.

Enjoy!

Atlanta Restaurant “Throws the Key” for French Festival:   It’s called the Fêtes De Bayonne, and it’s the largest festival every year in France.  And this year, an Atlanta restaurant is bringing a “taste” of the party right here to North Georgia, with a special celebration of food, drinks, and entertainment.

Cooks & Soldiers is hosting is very own Fêtes De Bayonne on Sunday, July 30 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., marking the annual French tradition with a special menu inspired by the event as well as music and entertainment.  The festival is actually a 5-day affair in Bayonne, which begins when the mayor there throws a key to the city into the crowd of revelers.  Cooks & Soldiers will also start the party with a “key throwing,” and will continue with a specialty menu including a “King Leo” salad, bell pepper omelets, and a dessert called milleifeuille, which is a layered pastry also known as a Napolean.  The restaurant will also be providing traditional red kerchiefs, which patrons can wear in honor of the red-and-white theme of the Fêtes De Bayonne.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken is never one to miss a party, and spend the morning at Cooks & Soldiers getting a preview of this special event.
