"Free State of Jones," director Gary Ross stops by Good Day Atlanta
ATLANTA - "Free State of Jones" is set to hit theaters soon, with a red carpet premiere taking place in Atlanta tonight hosted by Ambassador Andrew Young. The Civil War drama's director Gary Ross stopped by Good Day Atlanta to talk to anchor Karen Graham about the emotionally raw film.
The movie is based on a true story of a racially mixed, anti-confederate insurgency that fought against the Confederacy in Mississippi. Ross talks about the research and emotion that was put into this film which was shot in Louisiana and Mississippi. The film boasts an all-star cast including Oscar-winning-actor Matthew McConaughey.
