Fayetteville man, 96, brought to tears when reunited with wife

A Fayetteville hospital shared an incredibly heartwarming photo on Facebook Thursday of an elderly couple holding hands.

According to Piedmont Fayette Hospital’s post, residents Tom and Arnisteen Clark have been married for 68 years and they are currently staying in the hospital.

The hospital said the only time the Clarks have been apart during their marriage is when Tom, who is an Army veteran, was stationed in Korea.

“This made their stay in different rooms in the hospital very difficult for them, so Tina Mann, Manager, Orthopedics Medical-Surgical 4, with help from the clinical staff, went above and beyond to make a special arrangement for Tom, 96, to visit his wife, in her room,” the post said.

The hospital said Tom was “overcome with joy” and cried when he saw his 92-year-old wife.

“He wept as he described the deep love he has for Arnisteen.”

Tom told the hospital he just can’t be away from her.

“She’s the finest woman in the world,” Tom told the hospital staff.

The Facebook post has been shared more than 1,200 times and has more than 5,000 likes.

“Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery for the Clarks and many more happy years together,” said Piedmont Fayette Hospital.
