Disney's The Little Mermaid at Serenbe Playhouse

They created an entire carnival for Carousel, landed a real helicopter in Miss Saigon, and built a drive-in movie theatre from scratch to bring the wild characters of Grease to life. What could the creative masterminds at one of the country's most innovative theatre companies possibly do next? Take theatergoers under the sea, of course!

Serenbe Playhouse launches its ninth season with Disney's The Little Mermaid, which runs through April 22 at The Grange Lake at Serenbe.

Created as an animated film in 1989 and transformed into a Broadway show nearly two decades later, Disney's The Little Mermaid features now-iconic songs like "Part Of Your World," "Kiss The Girl," and "Under The Sea" to help tell the story of Ariel, a mermaid who longs to explore dry land and makes a major sacrifice for the man she loves.

Taking on the larger-than-life characters are award-winning actress Niki Badua ("Miss Saigon") as Ariel, Chase Peacock as Prince Eric, and Good Day Atlanta favorite Deborah Bowman as the deliciously evil Ursula.

Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken has been both on-stage and in the audience for Serenbe Playhouse productions in the past, and couldn't wait to see how this recycled kingdom was shaping up.  So he spent the morning in Chattahoochee Hills, getting an "inside look" with the cast and crew of Disney's The Little Mermaid.
